The Newcomer's Guide to Golem Meisters Adoptables (otherwise known as the FAQ.)
Okay... I know that we're a little unconventional so pretty much all newcomers arrive at GMA with confusion all over their faces. Here's a little guide to help you understand what's going on.
general information
Wait... golems? Required Materials? Golem Workshop? What on earth is going on in here?!
I see that you have stumbled across us from one of our deviation posts. A hearty welcome from the both of us to Golem Meisters Adoptables! We're actually adoptable sellers, but our adoptables are not sold through conventional means such as auctions or fixed-price sales since they're a bit boring. Instead, we get buyers to set up their own inventories, register as meisters, and trade with each other to craft the golem that they want!
What is an Inventory?
An inventory is a post which display the items that you have and the items that you need, in addition to some meister (member) information and the golems that the meister has crafted. You can view a sample inventory post here and view more actual meister inventories by clicking at the meister banners you see in the Registry. Most of our members set up their Inventories in Sta.sh, but you can of course set it up in your own personal journal.
Okay, I think I get it. I have to create my own inventory first before joining, right?
Yup. You can find the assets you need to create your card post in the sample inventory post. After making sure that your inventory has all the required sections, head over to Iris' Registry to pop your inventory in for some starter items. Follow a few simple instructions and you'll officially join us as a GMA meister.

trading and acquiring items
I did it! I got admitted! So... um... how do I get items?
Yaayy, welcome to the GMA family! Items are primarily obtained through Nagi's Material Gacha, which is refreshed every release. Simply purchase some spins from us for the items and you'll get some items and codes to trade with!
Wait, codes?
All items come with item codes, obviously to prevent cheating. Item codes are always issued and traded privately to prevent another person from cashing in your item before you can. These codes are very important because failure to produce the correct item codes at the Workshop will lead to your request being rejected – and a lot of speculation and gossip about your morality! Trades with other players are also finalised when your trade partner has received the codes for your items from you.
You've been talking a lot about trading. How do I actually do that?
Normally, meisters are not able to craft a golem from just spinning the Material Gacha because there is no guarantee that they'll get the items that they need. So when Meister A sees that Meister B has an item that they need and Meister A has an item that Meister B needs too, that's when a trade can occur! You can scroll down to the comments section of any of our meisters' inventories to see how trades happen. Technically trades are conducted when both parties have something that each other want, but lately I've noticed that if you're close to completion but have nothing to offer to the person who has the item you need, negotiations can occur!
What are Common Items and Artisan Items?
All of our items are split into these two categories that in a way denotes its rarity. Common items are items which are found naturally in the world of Golem Meisters; plants, gemstones or metals fall under this category. Artisan items, on the other hand, are items which can be crafted out of common items in Artisan Street. Not all artisan items can be crafted by the artisans though. Please see here for a complete list of artisan items and common items.
The main difference between common items and artisan items is in its generation. Services and events that give out random items as prize rewards will only generate common items. This includes the mod rewards of every release post – poor Elphie, she can never acquire artisan items easily. In other words, usually, artisan items can only be acquired from the Material Gacha.
What are epitaphs?
Epitaphs are stone tablets that are imbued with the power of seasons – okay, you probably don't want me to go there. In short, epitaphs can be used to substitute for any item for the golem that you are collecting. If you are one item away from that Spring-type golem and no one seems to have it, you can use a Spring Epitaph to replace the missing item. Please note that epitaphs must correspond to the attribute of the golem that you are crafting; you cannot use a Summer Epitaph to complete a Spring golem and so on.
Are paypal fees my responsibility?
Not at all. You can of course foot it if you're feeling generous and we'll regard it as a tip, but we're really not expecting anyone to do that.
Wow! I'm getting the hang of this trading thing. I've just completed the items required for my golem! Who do I report to?
Submit your claim to Elena, who will take your items and craft them into the golem that you want at no extra cost at all! You would also receive a banner showing that the golem has been crafted, which you can proudly display on your inventory for bragging rights. :) The journey to craft a golem is long and hard!
I just went to the Workshop and discovered that someone else has crafted the golem I want before me!! No!!
Unfortunately, since adoptables can only be owned by one person, the faster meister is bound to acquire it! But please keep your items with you, and maybe they can go into another golem that you'll like even more next time.

terms of usage of gma assets
The full Terms of Usage of our assets can be found here, but I understand that some of you might like additional clarification. Let's see.
Can I trade items?
Yes. The city of Yozellin is built on trades. This only applies to regular items though; special items such as gacha tickets are non-tradeable.
Can I sell my items?
Um... no... we do not allow transactions that involve any amount of monetary value on any of our assets, items included.
Can I gift my items away?
You are most certainly free to gift them away to another meister.
Can I get refunds on my items?
We only issue refunds if we fail to fulfill obligations on our part – such as not delivering the items on time, or delivering the wrong items.
Can I use my items in personal/commercial works?
To a very limited extent, yes. Items are mainly designed for trading and circulation within GMA. Please clarify with us if you wish to use them for a different purpose.
Can I repackage the items I received and re-distribute them or re-sell them?
Please don't do that, you are going to give both Elphie and I heart attacks.
Can I trade my golems with others?
Yup. Only transactions involving money are not okay, so trades are perfectly fine.
Can I sell my golems?
This is a tricky question. The short answer is no, because, as we've mentioned before, we do not allow transactions involving money to occur for both our golems and items. Furthermore, none of our golems are sold through conventional means; to my understanding the adoptable community has accepted that adoptables can only be sold at the price at which it was bought for, and in the case of our golems, it is $0.00. Buyers do not purchase golems but instead purchase items for the golems. Technically then, a golem has no monetary value as an adoptable.
However, we do allow your golem to be used in commercial works. Please read on.
Can I gift my golem away?
By all means.
Can I use my golems in personal/commercial works?
Yes, and without attribution even. Our definition of acceptable commercial usage is the creation of derivative works that are then sold at a profit. In other words, selling the golem itself as an adoptable is not okay; however, if you used the golem design in a game, or a novel, or a poster or something which you have created yourself/commissioned others to create, and then sell that game/novel/poster etc at a profit, this is acceptable. You will not owe us additional royalty fees; once you own a golem, the rights to that golem's design is fully yours.
Can I repackage the golem I've received and re-distribute it?
Please don't be a jerk (;_;)

other questions
Are golems a closed species?
I cannot even say 'golems are a closed species' out loud without hurting my cheek muscles. No, they are not a closed species.
Are golem meisters a closed species??
Listen to yourself. No, golem meisters/masters/users are not a closed species.
So does that mean I can draw my own golems/golem meisters or ask others to do that for me?
Yes. However, the characters that you draw cannot claim any affiliation with the characters in our universe. Just as how Thorin is very different from Tyrion even though they're both dwarves, your characters and ours differ vastly in interpretation. What we would maintain is our own interpretation of these established concepts.
Please note that we'd like to protect our world-building material from the moment, so while we won't stop you from churning out designs that look similar ours (we steal ideas from other artists too anyway...), we'd appreciate it if you didn't claim ownership or usage rights of the golems or species that come with an info sheet.
So I can't draw/write about/create works about GMA's mascots or world? ):
Not exactly. We actually welcome all art of our characters and so on if they are clearly referenced to us. In other words, writing fanfics or headcanons about the GMA world for personal uses is okay, creating or commissioning your own original character based off our world is not.
How can I become a guest artist?
Thank you so much for your interest!! We always always welcome guest-submitted golems. Please refer to this guide on how you can submit your adoptables to us!
Please update more often!
Nuge has a full-time job and Elphie has school. ;_; We do our very best.
Please give away more free items!
We need to eat ;_;
Yozellin is such a weird name.
Thanks for asking. :) It comes from Yossele, from the Golem of Prague.
