For many centuries, empires and dynasties have believed in the existence of Esir – a city that is inhabited by gods and divine beings such as Temuzid. While no one knows for sure where the city is and how it could look like, modern-day scholars agree that Esir was the original birthplace of golem technology as all artefacts and scrolls related to golems can trace their origins there.
golem epitaphs
Golem epitaphs – epitaphs that are imbued with the powers of time and life itself – are considered Esirite technology. They are incredibly rare and are commonly only in the possession of Ancients such as Mammon or Temael.
ancients
Ancients are god-like beings with limited immortality that have existed since the beginning of time. They cannot die of old age, but will disappear when their powers diminish. Each Ancient has his or her own turf and is unique; most take very little interest in human affairs, prefering to indulge in their own interests. While the evidence linking Ancients to the Lost City are few and disputed, a considerable body of scholars believe that the two are related.
the yazul scrolls
The Yazul Scrolls are a series of fragmented documents that Yazul studied and used to create Chymoz. Although they have suffered damage due to the events of Korun Valley, most of the fragments have been recovered, alongside a substantial amount of the research notes done by Yazul and his companions. Scholars agree that the Yazul Scrolls are part of a much more comprehensive bible that originated from the Lost City, and are working to locate more scrolls. They are currently housed in the Chymoz Museum, and are the foundation for all golems created today. The scrolls themselves are still not fully deciphered.
